As construction work at the site of National Incubation Center (NIC) in Peshawar enters final stages, local thought leaders step forward to extend their support and patronage to the project.

Some of the most renowned business leaders of the city have agreed to become part of the incubation center’s advisory board. There is tremendous interest from the business community in indigenous high-tech, disruptive startups. As a result, some of NIC Peshawar’s prospective board members are keen to invest in game-changing interventions coming out of KP’s startup ecosystem that have the potential to create a global impact.

NIC Peshawar is also looking to receive support from the city’s academic institutions. CECOS University has offered its sprawling 50 kanal Makers Lab, equipped with 5-Axis CNC machines, to NIC Peshawar incubatees for prototype development. The NIC incubatees will also get full support from the Institute of Management Sciences’ Entrepreneurship Development Center and will enjoy the membership of Iqra University’s sports complex.

Iqra University has also shown interest in setting up a career development center in collaboration with NIC Peshawar, while CECOS University has shown interest in revamping their entrepreneurial course to better match NIC Peshawar’s guidelines.

Atif Rais Khan, Chairman and CEO LMKT, stated,

“We are heartened by the support of the regions’ thought leaders. This spirit of collaboration and generosity is essential for developing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s startup ecosystem.”

According to Director NIC Peshawar, Murtaza Zaidi,

“Incubatees of the National Incubation Center Peshawar will get access to world class facilities, industry-renowned mentors and investor networks to shape them into business leaders of tomorrow.”

LMKT is setting up the National Incubation Center in Peshawar in partnership with PTCL and funding from Ignite. It will provide support to entrepreneurs and startups of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. For updates and developments please visit NIC Peshawar’s official Facebook page.
